Position Overview
- Role: Oversee the daily operations and quality of designated histology laboratory areas
- Leadership: Supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and competency assessments
- Responsibilities: Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient laboratory testing while maintaining compliance with standard operating procedures
- Collaboration: Coordinate with other laboratory supervisors to support seamless transitions between shifts
- Quality: Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within the department
Requirements
- Associate of Science degree in Histology required; bachelor’s degree in Histology preferred
- Florida Clinical Laboratory Histology Supervisor license (or eligible)
- HT or HTL ASCP Certification
- Previous experience in histology and immunohistochemistry, including IHC validations
- Strong knowledge of College of American Pathologists requirements
Compensation & Benefits
