Position Overview

• Role: Oversee the daily operations and quality of designated histology laboratory areas
• Leadership: Supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and competency assessments
• Responsibilities: Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient laboratory testing while maintaining compliance with standard operating procedures
• Collaboration: Coordinate with other laboratory supervisors to support seamless transitions between shifts
• Quality: Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within the department

Requirements

• Associate of Science degree in Histology required; bachelor’s degree in Histology preferred
• Florida Clinical Laboratory Histology Supervisor license (or eligible)
• HT or HTL ASCP Certification
• Previous experience in histology and immunohistochemistry, including IHC validations
• Strong knowledge of College of American Pathologists requirements
