NEW Histology Technician (HT) Opportunity in Northern Vermont – Full-Time | Day Shift

A respected healthcare organization is seeking an ASCP-certified Histology Technician to join their Pathology team. Schedule: Full-time (80 hours bi-weekly)
Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Range: $25 – $36/hr
Setting: Hospital-based laboratory

What You’ll Do:

• Perform all phases of histology: grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining
• Prepare high-quality slides for diagnostic interpretation
• Assist with frozen sections and special stains
• Perform quality control (QC), quality assurance (QA), and preventative maintenance
• Accurately document and manage specimens using LIS systems
• Collaborate with pathologists and lab staff to ensure efficient workflow
• Troubleshoot equipment and resolve technical issues
• Support lab operations including inventory, training, and process improvement

Requirements:

• ASCP-certified Histology Technician (HT or HTL)
• Meets CLIA requirements for high complexity testing
• Associate’s degree (or higher) in chemical, biological, or laboratory science
• Completion of an accredited Histology training program
• 1–2 years of histology experience preferred (hospital experience a plus)
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and communication skills
