Job Description
Histology Technician – Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join a hospital-based laboratory team. The ideal candidate will prepare histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and assist pathologists in diagnosis. This role involves frozen sections, paraffin mounts, cytologic preparations, and staining procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and properly orient tissue samples in blocks and perform routine and special stains.

Assess adequacy of surgical and cytology specimens and request additional samples when needed.

Perform and document routine maintenance of lab instruments and quality control procedures.

Follow all regulatory guidelines, including state and Joint Commission standards.

Maintain professional working relationships with lab staff, nursing, and medical teams.

Demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and a positive attitude while meeting productivity standards.
Qualifications:

Registered Histology Technician (ASCP or equivalent) or eligible

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum 1 year of experience
