(Archived) Histotechnologist IHC Specialist
Job Description
Seeking an experienced Histology professional to join a top tier healthcare system in California!
Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:
• Analyze and evaluate IHC test results for validity and accuracy
• Identify IHC staining issues and troubleshoot effectively
• Optimize, validate and implement new IHC tests
• Re-optimize and implement current pathologist-requested IHC tests
• Maintain IHC procedures, manuals, and logs
• Responsible for CAP Proficiency Testing
• Ensure that the Histology department is following CAP guidelines in regards to IHC
• Update Supervisor Daily/Weekly as needed on IHC Issues and Tasks
Work Experience And Educational Requirements:
• Minimum two (2) years previous experience in Histology.
• Minimum one (1) year previous experience as a Histotechnologist.
• Minimum one (1) year previous experience with Antibody Research, Optimization, Validation, Verification, Protocol Development, and Antibody Prep in regards to Immunohistochemical Stains.
• Certified ASCP Board of Registry HTL.
• Certified ASCP Board of Registry QIHC preferred.
• Must show capability of above average technical skills and judgment.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
•(B.S.) Bachelors of Science degree from four-year College or University required.
