Job Description
Overview
The Program Manager (PM)/Health Services Administrator (HSA) is the key operating position in the Company organization. The PM/HSA has overall administrative responsibility for all on-site and off-site health care services for their correctional facilities. This includes complying with applicable state and local health services regulations and statutes and maintaining all required accreditations. The PM/HSA has four main areas of responsibility: personnel management, client management, clinical quality management, and operations management for the detention facilities in their county. The PM/HSA ensures the highest quality clinical care is delivered to the persons served entrusted to our care by allocating our healthcare funds to deliver the most appropriate care to the greatest number of persons served. The PM/HSA ensures we meet or exceed our commitments to all employees, clients, and Company. This is accomplished by providing guidance, direction, and support to their staff, ensuring their staff are trained and supported in the delivery of care. The PM/HSA ensures key performance information is provided to your sheriff’s department clients, acting as the conduit for the sharing of information between your county and the home office, and collaborating with all functions in the home office as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business, Health, or related field strongly preferred; healthcare experience (nursing or other clinical role) can be a substitute for academic preparation
Experience:
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in healthcare corrections or operations management
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in healthcare corrections or operations management preferred
- Previous correctional/detention facility experience
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
- Unrestricted and current license in state of practice
- Current (and must maintain) security clearance
Responsibilities
- Mentor, coach and support all direct reports
- Oversee the scheduling of all personnel
- Ensure all performance management activities are completed including, but not limited to performance evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary actions
- Identify professional development opportunities for direct reports and other Company employees on their team
- Review and approve, with the Director of Operations, his or her team member performance evaluations and completed professional development plans
