Job Description
Overview
Under direct supervision and direction of the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher licensed medical professional, Director of Women’s Health is responsible for the overall success and supervision of the departments healthcare services and medical procedures related to Woman's Health and Family Planning. The Director of Women’s Health delivers a range of acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare services in daily coordination of health care and facility staff in compliance with all current and applicable regulations and laws.
Qualifications
Education for Nurse Practitioner:
• Doctorate or Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
Experience for Nurse Practitioner:
• Previous correctional/detention facility experience
Licenses/Certifications for Nurse Practitioner:
• Unrestricted current nursing license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.
• Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and ACLS certification through AHA
Responsibilities
- Obtaining a relevant health history, including a comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic history, with emphasis on gender-based differences
- Performing a complete, system, or symptom-directed physical examinations on women, including obstetric and gynecologic conditions/needs that include, but are not limited to: pregnancy, benign and malignant gynecologic conditions, contraception, and sexually transmitted infections, perimenopause/menopause/post-menopause and other gender-specific illnesses
- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating for maternal and fetal well-being, high-risk pregnancies, depression, and pregnancy/postpartum complications
- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating disease risk factors specific to women
- Distinguishing female gender differences in presentation and progression of health problems and responses to pharmacological agents and other therapies
