Job Description

Overview

Our Unit Coordinator provides overall direction and supervision of the designated special mental health units. This individual provides clinical and administrative oversight and direction to CCS staff assigned to the unit; ensures appropriate professional training; and coordinates clinical supervision with the appropriate CCS authority. This individual works cooperatively with client personnel and maintains accountability for all services performed by CCS staff. This individual also ensures the provision of necessary services, the appropriate documentation of these services and the on-going monitoring of the quality of these services.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Masters Degree in a Clinical Healthcare related area

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience in a psychiatric acute care setting with similar responsibilities.
  • Correctional experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • LMSW, LPC, or similar licensure as required by Massachusetts.
  • Current CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible to plan, supervise, and coordinate the efforts of mental health services’ staff at the program level as directed by the Mental Health Director, State Mental Health Director, and Health Services Administrator.
  2. Responsible for the administrative direction, professional education, and staff development of health and mental health professionals within the program and for training new staff and update trainings for current staff. Will organize specific clinical training as needed.
  3. Responsible for monitoring the admission and discharge process and ensuring compliance with policy. Serves as primary point of contact for CCS for referral source and receiving facilities.
  4. Ensures daily functions of the special mental health units are covered by appropriate staff and occur as per unit schedule.
  5. Ensures cooperative efforts with designated client counterpart. Ensures issues impacting client are brought to client in a timely manner, and addresses issues impacting CCS in a timely manner.
