Job Description

A rural, coastal clinic in Alaska is seeking a Mental Health and Substance Abuse Supervisor to provide direction to its staff while being responsible for the coordination and delivery of its services to adults in the region. A Master's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or Human Services is required and prior rural and tribal mental health experience is preferred. A Master's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or Human Services is required and prior rural and tribal mental health experience is preferred. Qualifications:

1. Master's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or Human Services is required

2. Prefer two years post-Master's degree supervisory experience preferrably in a rural mental health center.

3. Must be physically and emotionally capable to travel in a small aircraft and willing to travel within the region.

4. Must be sensitive to the needs of varying educational, traditional, and cultural lifestyles.

5. Familiarity with tribal or underserved populations is preferred.

Essential Functions:

1. Supervises and directs clinical operations and monitors the Chemical Dependency Counselors at an inpatient treatment facility.

2. Mentors, coaches, and counsels staff and documents and resolves any issues.

3. Works closely with the State of Alaska Division of Behavioral Health to ensure program compliance.

4. Develops individual client assessments to highlight client strengths, limitations, and support needs.

5. Develops an initial treatment plam with the clients based on the clinical assessment.

6. Participates in the development and updates of policies and procedures of the clinic.
