We are seeking an EEG Registered Technologist at Aspirus Wausau Hospital Wausau, WI to perform EEG (Electroencephalogram) departmental exams as requested by staff and area physicians using job-related record keeping and proper patient care during procedures meeting national competencies for performing an Electroencephalogram as presented by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET).
Responsibilities will include:
Performs electroencephalogram (EEG) exams including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, Electro cerebral inactivity (ECI), adult and geriatric patients, according to ASET guidelines and lab standards.
Recognizes and differentiates artifacts from cerebral activity and reacts accordingly.
Performs at least two of the following modalities: Somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP), Visual evoked potentials (VEP), and Auditory evoked potentials (AEP) with high quality results in both the laboratory and intensive care unit according to ASET and lab standards.
Performs neurodiagnostic procedures to include digital EEG, topographic mapping of EEG/EP data, multiple sleep latency testing (MLST) and routine polysomnograms.
Knowledge necessary for this position normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma and graduation from an Electroneurodiagnostic technology program.
Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of date of hire.
