Job Description
Job Title: Cytogenetic Technologist
Location: Charlotte, NC
Schedule: Sun - 8:00am - 5:30pm, Mon - Wed 10:30am - 9:00pm, Rotating Holidays
Pay Rate: $33.05-$49.60
Sign-On Bonus: $5k ($2500 at 90 days and $2500 at 1 year)
Relocation Assistance: $4k within 45 days
Job Description:
- Perform sample set up, harvesting, slide preparation, staining, microscopic analysis, photography, karyotyping, and FISH analysis.
- Assure specimen integrity throughout processing.
- Culture blood, bone marrow, and biopsy samples, monitor growth levels, and perform culturing procedures.
- Prepare slides and utilize various staining techniques.
- Analyze specimens microscopically and operate automated karyotyping equipment.
- Conduct FISH processing and analysis.
- Maintain record-keeping, stock supply levels, and lab procedures.
- Coordinate with lab personnel, manage quality control, and stay updated on cytogenetics research.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in any Life Science.
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or Technologist in Cytogenetics (ASCP) required.
- CG(ASCP) certification required.
- Previous FISH Analysis, Chromosome Analysis, and Cytogenetics Wet Bench Setup experience preferred.
