Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS)
Performscardiac ultrasound and other cardiology diagnostics for patient age groupsadult through geriatrics. Has theknowledge and expertise to identify and document normal and abnormal cardiacanatomy and function, and performs diagnostic cardiac procedures throughout thehospital. Documents and distributes testresults after physician interpretation. Assists physician in the performance of exercise stress testing (allmodalities from initial hookup through recovery phase of testing), and will identifyand document ectopic rhythms observed during testing. Has the knowledge or will learn to performall aspects of holter monitoring from initial hookup through scanning andgeneration of reports.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be a High School graduate or equivalent. Cardiovascular Ultrasound graduate.
One year of experience in acute care setting orphysicians office, preferred.
Registry in cardiac ultrasound. – obtainedwithin one year of hire. American Heart Association Basic Life Supportrequired.
