Sonographer - Diagnostic - (Sonography - Sono)

The Cardiac Diagnostic Laboratory at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is partnered with Washington University School of Medicine to provide state-of-the art multi-modality echocardiographic imaging. Performs complex echocardiography exams at various locations throughout academic campus. Evaluates all aspects of cardiovascular patient clinical assessment for cardiac conditions and recognizes abnormalities. Reviews and correlates relevant patient history, including corrective procedures, surgeries, etc. Applies independent clinical judgement during exam to ensure appropriate anatomical, pathophysiology and clinical conditions are captured in examination images. Acquires advanced modalities as trained to include 3D, right heart strain, TAPSE, PISA. Transcatheter pre/post valvular repair/replacement, HOCM etc. Communicates with healthcare team for collaboration of care. Reviews examination images, synthesizes examination results and prepares preliminary findings to support interpreting physician echocardiographer by contributing technical impressions and professional knowledge to facilitate the completion of final diagnostic report for use in clinical care.
