Job Title: Ultrasonographer/Registered Vascular Technologist

Department: Diagnostic Imaging Services

Position Summary: Under the supervision of a radiologist and the direction of the Clinical Supervisors, this position competently performs ultrasound imaging. Must have ability to recognize imaging anatomy. Responsible for providing customer service excellence and complying with hospital and department policies and procedures. Uses RIS for proper recording of patient procedures and dissemination of patient results.

Reports to: Director of Diagnostic Services and DIS Clinical Supervisors

* Registration in all of the following areas of sonography is required: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) (ABDOMIN) (OB/GYN), and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) is preferred.
* Performs a variety of ultrasound examinations to fit the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: Abdominal, Pelvic, ALL Obstetric including fertility and fetal morphologies, small parts (breast, scrotal and thyroid), Carotid duplex, Deep Vein Thrombosis, Liver biopsies, Breast biopsies, and fine needle aspiration of the thyroid.
* Coordinate work with physicians or other healthcare team members, including providing assistance during invasive procedures when applicable. Reports and calls in-service requests on equipment when needed.
