OB/GYN Ultrasound | Outpatient Women's Health | Diagnostic Imaging
An established OB/GYN practice located in northeastern South Carolina, approximately two hours from Charleston, is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join its women's health team.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced ultrasound professional with a strong background in obstetric and gynecologic imaging. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, strong patient-care abilities, and the ability to perform high-quality diagnostic examinations in a busy OB/GYN practice.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations according to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures and explain examinations clearly and compassionately.
- Verify patient identification, clinical history, and examination orders.
- Position patients appropriately for diagnostic examinations.
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively.
- Select appropriate imaging protocols based on the examination ordered.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
- Perform appropriate measurements, calculations, and image documentation.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and obtain additional images when appropriate.
- Recognize and document relevant sonographic findings.
- Perform obstetric and gynecologic imaging studies as requested by physicians.
- Monitor patients throughout examinations and respond appropriately to patient needs.
- Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation.
- Assist with patient flow and provide support to the clinical team as needed.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure examination rooms are properly prepared.
- Follow established infection-control and patient-safety procedures.
- Maintain compliance with departmental, regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide compassionate and professional care to patients throughout their examinations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized ultrasound environment.
- Participate in quality-improvement and continuing-education activities.
- Perform additional sonography responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of previous ultrasound/sonography experience required.
- Strong OB/GYN ultrasound experience required.
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related ultrasound program.
- ARDMS certification/registry or appropriate professional credential required.
- Strong knowledge of obstetric and gynecologic anatomy, protocols, measurements, and image optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to independently perform OB/GYN ultrasound examinations.
- Experience in an outpatient OB/GYN or women's health setting preferred.
- Strong patient-care and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy physician-practice environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and clinical staff.
- Commitment to patient privacy, safety, and diagnostic quality.
