Permanent & Full-Time Direct Hire
Mobile Ultrasound | Diagnostic Imaging | Day Shift

A diagnostic imaging services provider serving the southwestern Georgia area, approximately three hours southwest of Atlanta, is seeking an experienced General Sonographer to join its mobile imaging team.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a skilled sonography professional who is comfortable working independently and traveling throughout an assigned service area. The ideal candidate will have strong general ultrasound experience, excellent patient-care skills, and the ability to perform high-quality diagnostic studies in a variety of patient-care settings.

  • Travel throughout the assigned service area required

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations using portable ultrasound equipment.
  • Travel to nursing facilities, long-term care facilities, home-care settings, and other assigned patient-care locations.
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and explain procedures clearly.
  • Verify patient identification, clinical history, and examination orders.
  • Position patients appropriately for diagnostic examinations.
  • Obtain clinically diagnostic and technically accurate ultrasound images.
  • Perform general ultrasound studies according to established protocols.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and obtain additional images when appropriate.
  • Transmit completed studies electronically for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Complete required examination documentation, paperwork, and billing information.
  • Maintain accurate patient and imaging records.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, facility staff, dispatchers, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Operate and maintain portable ultrasound equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper working condition of ultrasound equipment.
  • Maintain the assigned company vehicle according to established requirements.
  • Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory and operational standards.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
  • Work independently while maintaining effective communication with the clinical and operational team.
  • Participate in training, meetings, quality-improvement activities, and special projects as assigned.
  • Perform additional sonography responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Prior General Sonographer experience required.
  • Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program required.
  • ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT certification/registry required.
  • General sonography registry/credentials required.
  • Vascular credentials may be preferred depending on departmental requirements.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing required.
  • Ability to travel throughout an assigned service area.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound protocols, anatomy, positioning, and image optimization.
  • Strong patient-care and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and clinical judgment.
  • Basic computer and mobile-device skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and patient-care needs.
  • Commitment to patient safety, diagnostic quality, and professional standards.
  • Required health screenings, certifications, and operational requirements must be maintained.
