Permanent & Full-Time Direct Hire
Ultrasound Imaging | Hospital-Based | Day Shift
A hospital-based imaging department located in Arkansas, approximately one hour southwest of Little Rock, is seeking an experienced Sonographer to join its diagnostic imaging team.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a skilled ultrasound professional who is comfortable working in an acute-care hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong sonography experience, excellent patient-care skills, and the ability to perform high-quality diagnostic examinations in a fast-paced clinical setting.

- Monday, Thursday, and Friday schedule
- Rotating call responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to established imaging protocols.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures and explain examinations clearly.
- Verify patient identification, clinical history, and examination orders.
- Position patients appropriately for diagnostic examinations.
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively.
- Select appropriate imaging protocols based on the examination ordered.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists and physicians.
- Perform appropriate measurements, calculations, and image documentation.
- Recognize and document relevant sonographic findings.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and obtain additional images when appropriate.
- Monitor patients throughout examinations and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
- Provide compassionate and professional patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation.
- Follow established infection-control and patient-safety procedures.
- Maintain equipment and report equipment issues or malfunctions appropriately.
- Perform quality-control procedures as required.
- Follow departmental, regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with urgent and emergent imaging needs within the hospital.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment.
- Participate in quality-improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional sonography and imaging responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior Sonographer experience required.
- ARDMS certification/registry required or appropriate credentialing based on departmental requirements.
- Appropriate Arkansas sonography/licensure or credentialing requirements must be met.
- BLS certification required.
- Associate degree or equivalent education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field required.
- Demonstrated ability to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound protocols, anatomy, patient positioning, and image optimization.
- Experience in a hospital-based or acute-care imaging environment preferred.
- Strong patient-care and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Strong critical-thinking and clinical judgment skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Ability to participate in a rotating call schedule.
- Commitment to patient safety, diagnostic quality, and regulatory compliance.
