Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist to join our radiology team in Southern Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality mammographic procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This position is perfect for a certified technologist with a passion for breast health and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and diagnostic mammography exams on patients as per physician orders.

Operate and maintain mammography equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly.

Position patients and properly expose mammographic films to capture diagnostic images.

Review images for clarity, quality, and accuracy, ensuring that they meet the required standards.

Ensure patient safety by explaining procedures and answering any questions about the process.

Provide excellent patient care, ensuring comfort and dignity for patients during the exam.

Maintain accurate and timely records of patient procedures and outcomes.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including those set by the FDA and ACR (American College of Radiology).

Work with radiologists to ensure timely interpretation of mammograms.

Assist in coordinating follow-up procedures for patients when necessary.

Ensure that images are appropriately filed and available for review by the healthcare team.

Maintain cleanliness and safety of mammography area, including disinfecting equipment and surfaces.

Stay current with advancements in mammography technology and techniques.
Qualifications:

Education:
-
Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
-
Completion of additional training in mammography, as required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Certifications:
-
ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology (RT).
-
ARRT certification in Mammography (M).
-
Valid state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (if required in your state).

CPR certification (BLS).

Experience:
-
1-2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist preferred, but not required.

Experience with digital mammography equipment is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong understanding of mammography procedures and breast imaging techniques.

Excellent patient interaction and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Detail-oriented with a focus on ensuring high-quality images.

Ability to manage patient stress and anxiety related to the procedure.
