DirectShifts is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist to work in Coatesville, PA
Overview
The Behavioral Health Therapist functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team to assess the functional abilities , impairments, and needs of each patient and to address these individually and through psycho-education groups. The Behaviroal Health Therapist leads daily therapeutic groups focused on essential skills patients need to manage their illness as well as their social environment. He/she documents clearly and accurately patient participation and progress. He/she is an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team of professionals and contributes to the formulation of individualized plans of treatment, regular reassessment of patient progress to ensure maximum therapeutic benefit. He/she performs other tasks related to chart maintenance, environment of care, patient care and transportation, as required.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in a Human Services field required.
Requires knowledge of human behavior, symptoms of mental illness and appropriate therapeutic interventions, de-escalation and management strategies, group dynamics, and topic-specific content, i.e. stress management techniques.
