Job Description

Red Oak Counseling’s treatment team is expanding and we are looking for a few special therapists to join our team at our Elm Grove location. The therapist must be well versed in providing services to people with a variety of mental health issues. The ideal candidates will have a master’s degree, licensed in the state of Wisconsin, the ability to manage a full-time caseload, two evening hours are a must, and the applicant must desire a team-driven environment.

Our private practice consists of Mental Health, Addictions, Eating Disorders, Relationships, Military, Trauma, Codependency, Corporate Counseling, and Work Concerns. We have successfully been in business since 2004. We provide a friendly working environment, a comfortably furnished office space, flexible schedules, efficient electronic billing and software services for clinical documentation, convenient locations, full-time office staff to assist with day-to-day functions, weekly consultation, and outstanding referral relationships. All employees are a valued and integral part of our team and everyone’s input is considered and heard.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical outpatient mental health treatment
  • Complete clinical documentation within one week of date of service
  • Actively participate as a positive member of the clinic
  • Maintain good standing with the appropriate licensing board and insurance entities
  • Complete all recommended continuing education requirements
  • Stay current with updated research and best practices
  • Be aware of community referral sources
  • Secure client information per HIPAA standards
  • Maintain case files within electronic health record (EHR)
  • Perform other duties as assigned (including but not limited to completion of Social Security / Disability Forms, authorization and billing forms, phone calls, and participating in case consultation meetings)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of family systems and their impact on mental health within the family.
  • Skilled in family planning
  • Skilled in working with a variety of cultures
  • Skilled in working independently and implementing time management strategies
  • Ability to provide necessary self-care.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive interactions with other clinic staff.
  • Awareness of personal strengths and timing for referrals.

Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree or doctorate in psychology, social work or related field
  • Licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or MFT
  • Independently licensed (credentialed with insurance companies a plus)
  • Strong ability to work effectively with colleagues within the organization and the community via verbal and written communication skills.
  • This position is within a private practice, thus marketing experience is a plus.
