Exciting opportunity to serve as Outpatient Assistant Clinical Director for The Body Image Therapy Center.

The Body Image Therapy Center is looking to add an experienced eating disorder therapist to join our program as the Assistant Clinical Director for all outpatient programs including Baltimore, Columbia, and DC IOPs and PHPs. The Assistant Clinical Director will be responsible for assisting the Clinical Director with managing the Outpatient Treatment Programs (OTP) and ensure personnel are assigned to perform clinical services for all aspects of the OTP service levels.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Takes on responsibility for leading OTP when Clinical Director is unavailable
  • Single point of accountability and responsibility for OTP when Clinical Director is unavailable
  • Operate independently on a daily basis to manage the overall assigned program, assigned clients, assigned staff, treatment approach, treatment outcomes
  • Assists in developing team at OTP to be competent in and self-led in daily job functions
  • Assists Clinical Director in developing strategy, team training with intention to improve performance, care delivery, treatment outcomes
  • Assist staff assigned as direct report for client assessment, admission, treatment plan, level of care and discharge
  • Coordinates assessment as to clinical appropriateness for all admissions, transfers, administrative, and therapeutic discharges as assigned by location
  • In concert with Clinical Director, routinely assess staff development, training needs, certifications and experience and act to continuously improve capabilities of clinical team as assigned
  • Responsible for development of programming and services, individual and group therapy, extracurricular activities
  • Supervises and coordinates development of comprehensive treatment plans and treatment plan updates for all clients as assigned
  • Provide supervision for clinicians, program staff, and interns; and clinical support for all other staff as assigned
  • Ensure programs are staffed with appropriate clinical personnel to meet program requirements as assigned
  • Participate in the recruitment, retention and development of qualified clinical staff and ensure that they are scheduled to meet patient demand as needed
  • Provides group and individual therapy (50% of work is direct client care)
  • Provide guidance and accountability for operational staff to support patient care throughout their experience with the OTP.
  • Monitor and evaluate duration, frequency and modality of treatment provided to determine consistency with clinical need
  • Review, update and implement clinical policies, procedures with input from leadership team.
  • Identify quality improvement opportunities and develop interventions to improve services and programming based on data collection review
  • Provide clinical support, as needed, to admission team for the timely completion of the initial clinical evaluations of new admissions and insurance pre-certifications when needed
  • Share on-call demands with other licensed clinicians and managers for program emergencies and consultation as scheduled (weekly and weekends)
  • Assist UR specialist with initial reviews, concurrent reviews and peer to peer reviews
  • Develop a sustainable utilization review strategy to ensure client services days are optimized
  • Primary responsibility for client treatment plan for assigned clients
  • Maintain up to date client charts
  • Documentation as required for clinical, human resources, training needs
  • Oversee completion of required training for clinical staff as required by TBITC and Refresh
  • Balance the needs for quality patient care with the economic demands of the business, including staffing needs, use of salaried vs. hourly resources, minimizing redundant and/or under-utilized resources
  • Ensure fiscally responsible decisions are made to manage resources associated with programs
  • Coordinate with leadership team to keep program fiscally viable
  • Provide oversight of utilization review process with personal involvement in difficult cases
  • Monitor effectiveness of overall utilization review (UR) process, including mentoring, participating, process development and management, reporting and auditing
  • Maintain relationship with all primary, secondary referral sources to ensure consistent referral patterns into programs
  • Represent TBITC as speaker at local, regional and national forums
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed for the successful launch, management, and operations of the OTP

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years eating disorder treatment experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year working in a clinical supervisory role
  • Certified Eating Disorder Specialist preferred but not required
  • Masters or Doctorate level therapist
  • Maryland license or license eligible immediately upon hire required
  • Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
