Overview
Therapist – School Based Clinic
At Changes Highland Springs in Solon, Ohio we offer Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs for children and adolescents. We have a therapeutic focused program offered as a day program which includes psychotherapy, psychoeducational and process groups, family and group therapy, and medication management.
We are currently seeking a Therapist to add to our School Based Clinical Services Team, to provide psychotherapy and counseling therapies for school aged patients suffering from psychiatric and substance abuse issues.
Position Details
- Conducts individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
- Displays active involvement in treatment planning process, discharge, transition, and after-care planning treatment process.
- As therapeutically necessary, provides family session counseling to patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.
- Support with vitals and UDS capture as needed.
- Actively communicates with clients, families, and outside referral sources
- Ongoing and consistent collaboration with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members. Demonstrates active communication with team members.
- Demonstrates appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. Completes accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills.
Qualifications
- Willing to accept the following terms of the Therapist - School Based Clinic position.
- This position follows an Academic School year and is a 9 month program, Therapists – on the School Based Clinical team are paid over a 12 month period, PTO is not accrued during this time. PTO is to be used during the 3 month break between academic school years.
- After the 3 month break, therapist are required to return to work at the start of the next Academic School year.
Education: Master’s degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure required.
Experience: Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
License: Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines.
