(Archived) Mental Health Technician
Job Description
PrimeCare Medical of West Virginia, Inc. is currently looking for a Mental Health Technician to assist our Behavioral Health Professionals in the medical departments at the Western Regional Jail and South Central Regional Jail. In this role the clinician is responsible for the clinical monitoring, coordinating and implementing of the mental health program in accordance with NCCHC standards and will serve as the mental health liaison between the medical unit and facility staff.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the clinical monitoring, coordinating and implementing of the mental health program in accordance with NCCHC/ACA Standards and PrimeCare Medical (PCM) policies and procedures.
- Serve as the mental health liaison between the forensic unit, facility staff and PCM.
- Monitor psych line for provider
- Serve as the PCM liaison for psychiatric/psychological services outside the facility.
- Facilitate admission and discharge of inmates/patients in the forensic unit.
- Monitor all psychiatric/psychological services provided.
- Ensure that complete, accurate and timely entries are made for every inmate/patient medical and mental health contact.
- Ensure that all orders and re-orders of medication are checked and verified so to ensure patient safety and so duplication of ordering and over stocking does not occur.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations.
- Keep Health Services Administrator informed at all times of any problem areas.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of all medical/mental health records.
- Monitor stock inventories of supplies and equipment and alert Health Services Administrator of needs.
- Monitor treatment response of inmates/patients.
Any/all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or delegated.
