Recovery Coach Job Description:
We are searching for a full-time Recovery Coach to assist with transitioning clients from incarceration to the community. This position performs a full range of Recovery Coach assignments, the tasks require knowledge and utilization of policies, procedures, and statutes to carry out Recovery Coach functions. This position is responsible for providing direct services to parolees and probationers under supervision by the Michigan Department of Corrections. This position is responsible for providing information, support, assistance, advocacy, or "systems navigation" to these individuals and is based on a recovery-oriented support environment that advances the recovery orientation. These efforts are focused on the acquisition of knowledge and skills that are intended to allow opportunities for individuals to explore areas of interested and opportunity. This approach will help them become more informed and skilled and build confidence in their sense of self.

Recovery Coach Job Requirements:
- Recovery Coach / Peer Support Specialist Certification required
- One-year experience desired with an understanding of multiple paths of recovery and basic knowledge of addiction, mental illness and/or willingness and ability to learn.
- Demonstrate an ability to work successfully with the underserved populations and complex conditions.
- A broad-based working knowledge of community resources is required, along with an ability to communicate verbally and in writing and utilize an electronic record.
