Responsibilities of the Pediatric Social Work/Behavorial Specialist

  • The Behavioral Health Specialist provides screening, assessment, and short-term counseling for mental health and substance abuse issues in a primary care setting.

  • Ideal candidate will understand the concept of integrating behavioral health in primary care.

  • Looking for someone who will have the ability to make prompt clinical assessment of behavior and mental conditions using assessment tools and provide appropriate interventions and short-term solution-based therapy.

  • The Behavioral Health Specialist will refer to community therapists as needed.

Minimum Requirements of the Social Worker/Behavioral Specialist

  • Masters in Psychology or Social Work is required.
  • Licensed as a mental health provider or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Pediatric experience is a plus
