Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiac Device Clinic Specialist at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI to provide quality cardiac rhythm device services to patients throughout the Aspirus Heart & vascular Institute service area.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrates competence in device interrogation and interpretation.
  • Analyzes results and communicates those results to physician in a timely and professional manner.
  • Effectively manages the device in the perioperative setting.
  • Demonstrates effective patient and device follow-up management to maximize patient well-being and the function of the device.
  • Facilitates patient care by traveling to various outreach clinics.
  • Acts as a liaison between departments, patients, and physician offices.
  • Acts as a liaison between device company representatives and staff.
  • Develops additional services to grow and maintain the program.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of an Associate Degree in related health sciences, or equivalent, with an Associate Degree in cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, nursing or biomedical electronic sciences or a Bachelor's Degree in cardiovascular/cardiopulmonary sciences beneficial.
  • Current CPR certification or obtained with 90 days of hire required.
  • Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license required.
  • Knowledge of ECG interpretive skills, cardiac clinical assessment, and routine cardiovascular pharmacological agents.
  • Knowledge of the technological aspects of devices i.e. pulse generators, leads, and electrodes, sensing, stimulation, timing cycles, algorithms, and defibrillation concepts.
