Job Description

The Echocardiographer Technologist provides quality cardiovascular diagnostic services to neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Uses patient information and age of patients to provide care. Whenever applicable, demonstrates understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of their physical and motor development, psychosocial development and intellectual/language development.

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Echocardiographer Technologist for a day schedule 7:30 - 4:00 pm, call rotation of 1 time per week and call every 4th weekend. Weekend rotation of every 4th weekend. Holiday rotation of 1-2 per year.

Education
Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of two years' of formal education. An Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in an allied health field desired.

Experience
At minimum, this position requires internship training in echocardiography and/or peripheral vascular ultrasound. Knowledge of routine cardiovascular pharmacological agents. ECG interpretive skills (identification and differentiation of arrhythmia).

Required
RDCS, ARDMS, or RCS CCI registry, or RVT, ARDMS or RVS, CCI registry, or registry eligible within 18 months of hire. Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire. Completion of Basic ECG class and passes with 80% or higher within one year of hire, or tests out of class. Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license required.

Other
Maintains number of Continuing Education Credits necessary to keep credentials (30 every 3 years).
