Summary:
Performs angiographic and interventional as well as general radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures on all types of patients in an efficient and caring manner in order to provide data for the diagnosis of a wide variety of medical conditions.
Evaluates exams for diagnostic quality while using professional judgment in the performance of services.
Responsibilities:
Effectively and safely operates all imaging and related medical (patient monitoring & support) equipment to complete a variety of invasive and other special procedures.
Produces acceptable images by selecting appropriate exposure factors, time sequences and patient positioning.
Fulfills duties of “scrub assistant” to assist physician during procedures, following proper sterile technique, catheter & guidewire manipulation, etc.
Follows all radiation protection and radiation safety policies.
Prepares, assists, and administers (as appropriate) contrast media under the direction of a physician. Properly loads and operates automatic injector.
Effectively uses computer systems (such as HIS, RIS, PACS) to process, access and distribute appropriate department and patient procedure information.
Assists in transportation of patients to and from the department.
Participates in providing education and information to patients and their families.
Participates in clinical training of radiology students by providing instruction, supervision and evaluation as required.
Assumes “call status” as necessary during off hours for emergency procedures.
Assumes role of radiographer as needed.Participates in quality assurance/quality control activities as required.
Performs other functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (or equivalent) in the appropriate specialty (radiography) and licensed by the State of Ohio in Radiology.
Must be a ARRT Radiology Tech with Ohio license; must have prior Cath Lab or EP Lab experience.
Possess a minimum of 2 years experience as a radiographer.
Competence in all diagnostic radiographic and special procedures.
CPR Certified
Additional Info:
Position is full time 40hrs/week(4-10hr shfits).
Person will take call every 6th day and every 6th weekend. Person must be able to respond within 30 minutes of the call.
Surgical/Cath Lab space is pretty new and opened in 2015; one of the first facilities in Ohio to do TVAR.
Cath lab has added many new procedures since then like:
-Impella Hemodynamic support system
-Comprehensive Structural Heart Program
-TAVR, Watchman, PFO Closures, MitraClip
-Inari DVT and PE mechanical thrombectomy
The Cardiac Cath Lab is currently averaging per month:
-198 catheterizations
-90 PCI’s
-45 Peripheral Diagnostic Procedures
-25 Peripheral Interventions
-12 Structural Heart Procedures
The hospital will offer a range between 26hr-35hr depending on experience. Position offers full benefit package and possible sign-on/relo package.
