Job Description

SUMMARY:

Support the Communications Team Lead and Office of Communications by developing and curating video, graphics and written content for use on social media channels. Assist with managing the editorial process and social media strategy for all relevant social media platforms to broaden visibility of Division programs and priorities to a wide range of stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute all aspects of social media content production, including conceptualization of content, drafting, editing, and leading the approval/clearance process
  • Create the appropriate tone and key messaging for content deliverables in accordance with the Division’s Communications Plan and agency policy.
  • Work closely with the Communications Team Lead, staff writers, subject matter experts and creative agencies to produce compelling content and digital assets.
  • Understand and utilizes social media analytics to adapt and improve performance of content.
  • Generate reports on social media performance for leadership
  • Regularly report status to the DCPC health communication lead and designated Branch leadership.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of public health.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public health, or an applicable field of study.
  • 5 years of relevant professional work experience in leading social media content production and distribution.
  • Deep understanding of content creation for social media platforms
  • Experience building a brand through an engaged social following
  • Experience planning and executing social media awareness campaigns
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and how to use data to inform and adapt strategy.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage trends and topical issues to advance thought leadership
