Location: Onsite – San Francisco Bay Area (Palo Alto Medical Foundation – PAD)
Overview:
Our Client is actively growing and undergoing strategic transformation across its eight aligned medical groups. We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Recruiter who can operate with precision, professionalism, and poise while recruiting world-renowned physicians and senior healthcare executives.
This position is not for generalist recruiters. The right candidate will have a proven background in engaging with high-level clinical and executive talent, including specialists at the top of their fields. The ability to confidently build relationships and represent Sutter’s brand to national and international talent is critical.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end recruitment for executive-level physicians, medical leaders, and senior administrators
Collaborate with physician leadership and senior executives to define role requirements, recruitment strategy, and candidate profiles
Conduct direct outreach and sourcing for elite-level candidates using retained-search-caliber tactics
Serve as a trusted representative of our Client in sensitive, high-stakes candidate conversations
Drive a refined, high-touch candidate experience from outreach through close
Manage and track requisitions in Workday HCM and other internal tools
Provide consultative support to internal stakeholders on market insights and talent strategy
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of executive recruitment experience, with a strong track record filling C-suite, physician leadership, or nationally recognized clinical roles
Deep understanding of how to engage with high-profile medical professionals and organizational decision-makers
Clear, confident communication style with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders
Experience working within complex healthcare systems, academic medical centers, or top-tier executive search firms
Proficiency in Workday or similar applicant tracking systems
Must be available to work onsite in the San Francisco Bay Area as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Background recruiting in a retained search or boutique executive search environment
Existing network of high-level physician or healthcare executive contacts
Experience supporting organizations during periods of rapid growth or transition
