(Archived) Biostatistician
Job Description
The Biostatistician shall assist CHS and the Vision Center of Excellence (VCE) at Walter Reed in the advancement of vision-related education, training, and readiness and vision rehabilitation education across a wide range of constituents.
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
- Master’s or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field, highly preferred;
- A minimum of four (4) years combined education and work experience in statistics, epidemiology, and/or data analytics, including various database systems.
- Eligibility to obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated analytical skills and passion for analyzing data. Utilization of MS Excel features, and a working knowledge of R Studio, SAS, SPSS, and/or STATS software.
- Well-organized, able to follow detailed instructions, meet deadlines of projects, and simultaneously work on multiple projects.
- Needs to work independently, be a self-starter.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
- Experience in data management, statistical analysis of longitudinal or repeated measurement of data, and drawing insights from large data sets
- Advanced computer proficiency, troubleshooting and data analysis skills.
