Medical technologists, or clinical laboratory scientists, are responsible for performing complex tests on blood and other body fluids, such as: biological, chemical, hematological, immunological, microscopic, and bacteriological tests. Medical technologists analyze samples for chemical content or reaction, determine concentrations of compounds, and type and cross match samples for blood transfusions. They are also held responsible for the accuracy of the tests they run and the results they find.

Required Qualifications
Required: Bachelors degree in Clinical Lab Science or related field. Current ASCP (MT) certification. Minimum 3 years in Microbiology required. Must have experience in plate reading, culture set ups, processing blood cultures and gram stain reading and interpretation.
