Job Description
Federal Staffing Resources is seeking a civilian Cardiac Sonographer (Ultrasound) Technologist for a position to provide services at Travis Air Force Base, CA.

*Regular Hours: Mon-Fri 0730-1630 On Call:2 weeks per month/every other weekOn-call begins on Friday at 1630*

Qualifications:
- Possess a two-year Associate Degree in Applied Sciences recognized by the National Society for Cardiovascular Technology, or graduated from an accredited ultrasound program.
- Must be a certified as a cardiac sonographer through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registered through Cardiovascular Credentialing International
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Must have 24 months experience within the past 36 months working as a cardiac sonographer
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Must be knowledgeable of general anatomy and physiology; cardiopulmonary system structures and functions; basic pharmacology; patient care theory, procedures, and techniques; medical terminology; aseptic techniques; medical ethics; resuscitation techniques; maintaining and operating cardiopulmonary laboratory diagnostic and therapeutic equipment; medications, and medical computer systems. (addition/basic requirement)
- Capable of performing the following procedure: Ambulatory Electrocardiographic Monitoring (Holter & Event monitoring)
- Capable of assisting w/ the following procedures: Exercise stress testing, Radionuclide/Thallium Stress Testing. Assist in Echocardiography in the Cardiac Catherization Lab for various procedures.
- Performs cardiopulmonary laboratory administrative, maintenance, and support functions. Ensures equipment is calibrated to manufacturer's specifications. Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes (or prepares for sterilization) cardiopulmonary equipment. Operationally checks and inspects equipment. Adhere’s to infection control & universal precaution procedures, including disposition of contaminated materials. Practices safety & security measures.
- Retrieves cardiology results on the Zymed Holter system, CardioNet Event Monitor system and IMPAX Radiology system.
