Scope of Work:
• The Physical Therapist will be providing services such as conducting comprehensive patient examinations, treatment planning, orthotic-assistive device recommendations (including proper use, application, care and training for the device being recommended), scheduling patient appointments, record keeping (e.g. care plans, initial assessments, progress notes, etc.), and other tasks inherent to a Physical Therapist in collaboration with other VA staff in the Physical Therapy Department.
• The Physical Therapist will provide services for 15 patients per day, on average, and the patients may be any combination of scheduled or unscheduled, outpatient or inpatient.
• The Physical Therapist will provide services for patients from a wide range of ages and backgrounds; therefore, competence in the examination and treatment of patients will be demonstrated in geriatric rehabilitation, musculoskeletal disorders, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, arthritis, spinal cord injury, stroke and head injury, chronic pain, amputation, vestibular rehabilitation, post-surgical joint replacement, assistive technology, health promotion, and reusable medical equipment usage and cleaning.
• The Physical Therapist shall perform services in accordance with VAMC policies and procedures and the regulations of the medical staff by laws of the VAMC and shall work in cooperation with the administrative staff.
• The Physical Therapist shall provide services under the discretion of the Chief of Staff, the Chief of Behavioral Health and Rehabilitation Service, and the Physical Therapy Department Supervisor.

Qualifications:
• Must have at least 1 year of experience.
• Must have a current, full and unrestricted license to practice in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• Must be nationally board certified.
• Must be a graduate from a degree program in physical therapy from an approved college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• Must have knowledge of contemporary and evidence-based PT practices and the ability to interpret clinician prescriptions and referrals.
• Current BLS Certification is required.
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
• Must have passed a physical examination within the past 12 months, to include current immunization status and tuberculosis screening:
o MMR-V titers (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella either separately or combined in a profile);
o Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis (Tetanus with or without the Diptheria/Pertussis);
o Hepatitis A titer or documentation of shot series;
o Hepatitis B titer or documentation of shot series;
o Tuberculosis screening as Mantoux, Quantiferon gold or Chest X-ray if positive PPD
o Other vaccinations if indicated
o Immune status
