Job Description

QuarterLine provides professional health care staffing services to military hospitals and health clinics across the United States. We are currently seeking a full-time Clinical Psychologist in support of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico.

The Clinical Psychologist will provide the services of Clinical Psychologists for component level POTFF programs and other clinical settings responsibility.

Clinical/Counseling Psychologist provides services at a high standard of quality enabling the POTFF to mitigate the effects of high operational tempos and co-occurring individual and family stress.

Performance will be in accordance with the standards contained in this statement of work and the terms and conditions of the contract.

Healthcare services provided will be of a quality meeting or exceeding current recognized national standards as established by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Joint Commission (JTC), and the American Hospital Association (AHA).

The clinical psychologist is responsible for the delineation, design and application of psychological procedures and techniques for patient care, procedural documentation, consultation and organizational development, research, and educational training consistent with DOD and American Psychological Association guidelines.

Basic competencies are expected in diagnostic interviewing, behavioral assessment, psychological treatment of DSM-IV diagnoses conditions, and the use of psychological testing/psychodiagnostic testing for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders.

Activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Crisis response and follow-up care in the event of unit casualties or other serious incidents; Provision of individual, family, and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy.

Use of behavior health measures, symptoms checklists, and psychological/neuropsychological assessment instruments to assist in diagnostic clarification and treatment planning.

Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and patient medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.

Assist and participate in special event informational seminars.

Psychological evaluations required by military schools and/or programs.

Command directed mental health evaluations performed.

Clinical supervision of para-professional staff, students pursuing an advanced degree in psychology, and unlicensed psychologists.

The clinical psychologist will maintain professional license and credentials to practice independently as a clinical psychologist.

They will maintain proficiency through attending continuing education and regular consultations with DoD and other agencies.

Education: The clinical psychologist is required to hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Psychology Doctor (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA approved psychology program (or a program acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Army).

Residency: Have completed an APA approved internship/residency in clinical psychology (or an internship/residency acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Army).

Licensure: Have and maintain a current license to practice psychology in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Experience: Have a minimum of one (1) year’s post-doctoral experience within the past five (5) years in the independent practice of psychology in the area of the clinical psychology, preferably in a Government setting such as a Department of Defense (DOD) or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF. Prior experience working with physicians providing medical psychological services is desired.

Must possess knowledge of the following:
Demonstrate a working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of clinical psychology programs.

Demonstrate computer literacy sufficient to operate a personal computer utilizing psychological test, word processing, database and spread sheet programs, electronic medical record, and possess basic typing skills sufficient to efficiently produce the psychologist’s own reports and correspondence.

Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as certified by the American Heart Association.

Documentation of such training will be provided to the COR.

The front and back of the BCLS will be provided to the Credentialing Department.
