Job Description

QuarterLine provides professional health care staffing services to military hospitals and health clinics across the United States. We are currently seeking Peer Network Coordinators in support of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) at Fort Benning, Georgia.

The duties include but are not limited to the following:
Comprehensive and effective coordination, development, and evaluation of programs and services that contribute directly and positively to preservation of the assigned unit’s force and families.
Responsible for organizing and overseeing peer support networks for their assigned commands. These networks will be developed to accommodate service members and families.
Recruit active duty and family member peer support counselors, ensure participating peer support counselors are vetted and trained according to standards established by DOD and USSOCOM.
Provide information and community resources to peer support counselors, members of their assigned units and families. Resources include, but are not limited to, DOD sponsored peer support counseling networks, clinical and non-clinical behavioral healthcare and supportive counseling, financial management resources, childcare, and others as appropriate.
Responsible for collecting and reporting data for the purposes of formative and outcome evaluations of peer support programs and other community based support programs.
Collect original data and data from secondary sources in support of program assessments. This data includes, but is not limited to, number DUI, DV incidents; focus group and or unit meetings convened by leadership; POTFF Family Resilience Program evaluation results; trend information from POTFF Psychologists, Chaplains, Ombudsmen, Family Readiness Group (FRG) staff; and website utilization patterns.
Will be assigned to USSOCOM component commands and serve as the Coordinator for commands at multiple levels and in multiple locations.
May be Special Operations specific or sponsored by the DOD organizations, military service or civilian entities.
Identify and document program/service needs and evaluation data.
Develop need’s based programming to serve specific demographic groups and geographic locations as required.
Must also have extensive knowledge of DOD, Service and community social service, family support, and behavioral healthcare resources to facilitate appropriate referrals either directly or through command and peer support networks.
Responsible for marketing available DOD resources, such as the Military OneSource, Military Family Life Consultants, and Peer to Peer Counseling Support Call.
Lead and/or assist in the coordination and/or development of official processes, functions and networking opportunities for subpopulations served. Examples include but not limited to: (1) the establishment of peer counseling networks for supported unit’s Service members and family member spouses; (2) welcome, indoctrination, and membership programs for new SOF members and their spouses; (3) resource fairs, deployment support briefs, and spouse appreciation events; (4) educational training (virtual or direct) on topics such as dealing with combat stress and the impact of mobilization; (5) communication protocols for such issues as family support outreach to new spouses and reaching families residing in remote areas; (6) FRG training and consultation for commands; and (7) emergency response protocols.
Facilitate the provision of programs and services utilizing existing resources from within their assigned commands, DOD and the civilian sector. As required, the coordinator shall assist with the development of standard operating procedures/service provision protocols, program development, community organizing, community outreach and liaison, serve as the commander’s representative for matters related to community and family support, and communicate on behalf of the command utilizing a variety of media/social media.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Must possess a bachelor’s degree in education, human/social services or a related field OR four years’ experience providing social service education, or work/family life consultation or coordination services.
Knowledge/Experience: Must have a minimum of two years’ experience coordinating social service education programs.
Must have, or be willing to receive, specialized training on peer support counseling, community resources and referrals and suicide prevention.
Must remain current on their knowledge of best practices and developments in areas of peer support counseling and suicide prevention, and will keep abreast of DOD, Service and community sponsored resources intended to promote the wellbeing of service members and their families. Experience with veterans and family members with special operations is desired
