Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA)
1st American Systems and Services is recruiting a Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate for Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska.

The victims’ safety is the DAVA’s top responsibility and priority.

The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate-DAVA:
(a) Provides24 hour/7 days a week response to victims alleging domestic abuse
(b) Develops safety plans based on initial and ongoing risk assessments
(c) Partners with the FAP treatment/case manager to support the victim and promote safety for the victim and children in the home
(d) Supports the Family Advocacy Treatment Manager (FATM) to develop System Advocacy, Education and Public Awareness, promoting a coordinated community response to domestic abuse and Collaborates with the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) to establish protocols.
(e) Is a member of the installation Family Advocacy Committee (FAC) and reports to the Family Advocacy Officer (FAO) The DAVA participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of installation domestic abuse policies and protocols
(f) Supports the Family Advocacy Program (FAP), Outreach Program (OP) and New Parent Support Program (NPSP) prevention activities. The DAVA will actively participate in all resiliency initiatives designed to prevent domestic abuse.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field
Individuals currently certified as DAVAs may be considered in lieu of education and/or experience requirements. The Government will verify all DAVA personnel certifications and experience with the appropriate agency as referenced in the contractor’s source documents.
Experience: At least one-year post bachelor’s experience in Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy or two years of experience in family maltreatment.
