Position: Occupational Therapist - Inpatient (Full-Time, Day Shift)

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This role involves working in a dynamic acute care environment to develop and implement progressive rehabilitation programs for patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address patients' functional needs, ensuring a safe discharge to home or another care facility.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, and implement rehabilitation programs according to occupational therapy principles.
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, nurses, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure comprehensive care addressing all functional needs of patients.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.

Qualifications:
  • Current or eligible for Hawaii State license as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Certification as Occupational Therapy Registered (OTR) from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.
  • Current BLS/HCP CPR certification.
  • Preferred: One (1) year of professional Occupational Therapy experience in an acute care hospital or outpatient setting.
  • Highly preferred: Acute care experience.

Physical Demands:
  • Essential: Standing, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting (15-50 pounds), pushing/pulling (up to 50 pounds), carrying (15 pounds).
  • Continuous: Standing, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching below shoulder.
  • Frequent: Sitting, stooping/bending, lifting (15 pounds), pushing/pulling (up to 50 pounds), reaching above/below shoulder, squatting, twisting body, carrying (15 pounds), repetitive arm/hand motions.
  • Occasional: Kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, static gripping, frequent gripping.

Working Conditions:
  • Generally not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Some exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases.
  • Fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment due to various demands on therapists.
